Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung, the grass is rise, I wonder where all the flower’s is????

So begins a funny poem I memorized at my Mother’s knee.  She used to say it every spring and without fail, I find myself doing so also.  The English language used is horrible but its tradition in my family and I love it.  My kids all look at me like “OH No, Here she goes again….but I’m looking forward to seeing if they enjoy the piece of silliness now that they are grown.

What did I do today?….Well, I  bought lunch for my dear boys who replaced the nastiest looking front yard tree with a beautiful Japanese Maple.

I’m so excited!  It only took five years and the declaration to my husband that the tree would never be replaced.  Hmmm!
After thirty-five years of marriage he still surprises me.

He called our son and said.
“Spring has sprung; Mom says we need to replace the tree in the front yard.”

The dear man showed up, dug up, cut up and replaced the tree – while my husband supervised.  We haven’t started discussing where all  the flower is yet…  That’s another post for tomorrow.
